How to export your Strong app strength workouts
Strong is an iOS and Android strength-training tracker. The export lives inside the app itself — there is no web dashboard — and produces a CSV you can share to Baseline directly from the share sheet. Baseline is compatible with Strong exports but is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or certified by Strong.
Can you export this data?
Yes. Strong provides a full CSV export from the app's Profile screen. There is no partial-history option; you get every workout you have ever logged.
Step-by-step
- 1Open the Strong app on your phone.
- 2Tap Profile in the bottom bar, then Settings (the cog icon in the top-right).
- 3Tap Export Data. Strong prepares a CSV of your entire workout history.
- 4When the share sheet appears, save the CSV to your device (Files on iOS, Downloads on Android) or send it to your computer via AirDrop or email.
- 5Upload the CSV to Baseline. Baseline auto-detects the Strong format from its header row.
What’s in the file
A single CSV with one row per set. Columns include date, workout name, exercise name, set order, weight (kg or lb), reps, notes, and RPE. Baseline reads weight-and-reps for the Big Four (squat, bench, deadlift, overhead press) plus any accessory lift you have logged.
What Baseline does with it
Baseline turns each working set into an estimated one-rep max using the Epley formula (capped at 12 reps). It picks the best e1RM per lift, computes a DOTS total from your SBD e1RMs when your profile has sex and bodyweight on file, and buckets each lift into ExRx bracket percentiles. Any set flagged as a warm-up in Strong is excluded from PB computations.
Common issues
- Strong has no web export. If you cannot open the app on your phone right now, the CSV cannot be produced today — there is no workaround from a browser.
- Some older Strong versions produce a semicolon-separated file with an unusual date format. Baseline's Strong parser accepts both comma and semicolon separators and both ISO and Strong's short date format.
- Bodyweight logs are not part of the workout CSV. Enter your bodyweight in Baseline's profile so DOTS and bracket percentiles can compute.
Privacy note
Your Strong CSV is parsed in your browser and discarded when the tab closes. Only the derived strength metrics — e1RMs, DOTS, PBs and volume — are ever sent to Baseline's servers, and only if you sign in and choose to save. The raw CSV is never uploaded.
Frequently asked
- Does Baseline use the Strong API?
- Strong does not offer a public API. Baseline works from the CSV you export yourself.
- I have a Strong subscription — does that change anything?
- No. The full workout CSV export is available on every tier at time of writing. Baseline treats the file the same way regardless of what plan produced it.
- Can I export a single workout instead of all of them?
- Strong's export is all-or-nothing. Baseline handles multi-month histories fine — upload the full file.
Ready when your file is
