Baseline is not a medical device

Draft — pending review

Baseline reads your fitness exports and produces a plain-English summary of what your training data is showing. It is a training and self-understanding tool, intended for adults using consumer fitness devices.

Baseline is not a medical device. It is not regulated by the MHRA, the FDA or any equivalent authority. Baseline does not diagnose, prevent, treat or cure any medical condition. Nothing in a Baseline Report is medical advice.

If you are worried about a symptom, a change in your resting heart rate, your blood pressure, your weight, a sleep problem, an injury or anything else about your health, please speak to a qualified medical professional. In the UK, that’s your GP, NHS 111 or, in an emergency, 999.

Every Baseline Report shows the data-confidence and caveats behind its numbers. When a number is based on a small sample, a noisy source or a body-composition estimate rather than a clinical measurement, we say so.

Consumer fitness devices — watches, scales, chest straps and rowing machines — are excellent for tracking trends over time. They are not substitutes for clinical measurement. Please treat Baseline in the same spirit.
